If you're at a party/event say things like ';I'm glad you came too';.
I love it when i tease a girl about something and she nudges me back, it's a good way of making contact.
Keep it subtle, having said this, guys often miss hints (i do anyway, i suck at hints).
You want to make a good impression so only hang around him if you're having an awesome time. Don't just hang around him for hours only having an alright time. You want to keep it exciting when you are around, when it starts to get a bit more boring go hang out with other friends for a bit and come back later. You want it to seem like the two of you ALWAYS have a really fun time together if that makes sense.
Say ';i went shopping today and bought a new dress, do you like it?';. It shows you want him to pay attention to you. Hopefully he says it's really nice (if he says he doesn't find a different guy!)
Invite him along somewhere. ';hey my friends and i are going to the movies next week, you should come too';
Put your number in his phone.
Ask him if he's single, even though you know he is. It shows you are thinking of him. If he asks why you asked say ';because you're a really nice guy';
Take photos of everyone, make sure you take one with him in it and tell him he looks good. Or take a photo of you both together.
If all this doesn't work then maybe you should be a little more direct and just ask him out on a date.
